SOLAR DECATHLON AFRICA

IRESEN & UM6P are doing more than ever to support the solar & sustainable buildings industries in MOROCCO and AFRICA through the international collegiate competition Solar Decathlon AFRICA. IRESEN, UM6P and its partners are leading a continentwide effort to train and educate collegiate students to join the AFRICA’s rapidly growing solar & green buildings Market.

The dedicated outreach and training effort enable AFRICA to increase the number of Africans who can fill the predicted skilled workforce shortage and ensure the continent is prepared for the changing landscape of energy production and distribution.

Solar Decathlon AFRICA helps empower African communities to meet their energy and housing needs  with an anticipated two-year program on solar energy and green energy-efficient buildings. The selected teams work with industrials and non-profit organizations to promote sustainability, provide access to clean energy and improve the quality of life.

Today’s African youth need to fathom the vital role of sustainable energy to boost the economic growth and enhance global security. The Solar Decathlon AFRICA outreach program is devoted to teaching and training the next generation in the fields of Renewables and green buildings. Our hand-on education approach not only teaches the vital concepts of solar energy and energy efficiency technologies, it instills hope for a green emerging AFRICA and supports the fast-growing communities within our continent.

The Solar Decathlon AFRICA reaches out to collegiate students and broad public. The event is a piloting career and a technical pathway program for the participating students. With this program we hope that renewables & energy efficiency education boosts the economic growth in the solar & green buildings industry.

IRESEN, UM6P and its partners invites universities and major players in the Renewables & energy efficiency sectors to be part of this journey. The competition provides a diverse and enriching environment for students to engage and learn. The organizers will provide hands-on experimental learning and showcase the potential of solar and energy efficiency technologies to ensure a sustainable healthy environment for Africans.

This prestigious competition engages students from across the country and internationally to develop the skills and knowledge to become the next generation of energy experts, and I want to recognize all of these teams for their hard work and dedication.
